Long bio:
Brian Wride is an accomplished fingerstyle guitarist with a soulful, baritone "voice like a minor key" who teaches music from his home in Uxbridge.
Brian started playing guitar in 1977, when a generous neighbour gave him an old electric guitar after upgrading to a better instrument. He took formal lessons for several years and enjoyed playing in a "garage band" as a teenager.
Brian has been a resident of Uxbridge since 1997 and started teaching in 2004 after three people approached him in the same week to see if he would. In 2010, Brian started battling stage fright by attending local open mics and has now become a fixture in the local music scene.
Brian is a regular performer at the Springtide Music Festival, Uxbridge's Art on the Fringe, Whitevale Porchfest, and the Stouffville Strawberry Festival. He hosts weekly open mics at Castle John's Pub and Restaurant in Port Perry and the Corner House Pub and Grill in Uxbridge. Brian also makes frequent appearances at events and open mics in Durham, York and the Kawartha Lakes regions.
Brian's repertoire spans the generations and includes unique acoustic interpretations of rock, pop, folk, and blues tunes, with a few instrumental guitar pieces thrown into the mix.
