Brian Wride is a musician based in Uxbridge, Ontario, who wears a lot of different musical hats. 

Performer:

Brian a versatile performer who can add a touch of sophistication to any event with his instrumental guitar playing; or he can keep the troops entertained playing guitar and singing his unique blend of classic tunes and Canadiana.  Brian also performs as the leader of the Brian Wride Trio, with John Grove on bass and Brad Jefferies on drums.

Music Instructor:

As a music teacher specializing in guitar, he teaches everything from the basics through to fairly advanced fingerstyle techniques. He also includes music notation and theory in his instruction. And, while first and foremost a guitar teacher, he is  also comfortable with teaching beginner mandolin, bass, and ukulele.  Brian can also coach people (including people who play other instruments) in performing as part of an ensemble.  He accepts students of all ages.

Techie:

Brian is  an experienced live sound engineer who once worked for Canada's largest audio-visual company and spent many years as a freelance audio-visual operator.  He has been behind the soundboard for numerous local events, including the Springtide and Wintersong festivals and concerts at The Woodpile and the Greenbank Folk Music Society.

Et Cetera:

Brian also hosts two local open mics, performs as part of the Blue Drag Band, and has been known to perform as a wedding guitarist from time to time.  On top of all that, Brian has occasionally contributed articles to UFOREA Zine, Uxbridge's monthly guide to Arts and Entertainment.

Open Mics

Brian currently host two weekly open mics in Durham Region.

Brian was a grateful recipient of a Hall's Island Artist Residency in 2024.

"Halls Island Artist Residency is an exciting initiative which provides artists of many disciplines with a peaceful, private, island retreat in the Haliburton Highlands, Ontario."

Brian used his time there to write music and work on his guitar technique.
